Viristar compiled this report as commissioned by Michelle Kloet. This report does not provide an opinion on the events leading up to the avalanche as the documentation required to examine the human and environmental elements of this tragedy were not willingly provided and could only be collected through legal proceedings.  This report's focus is on the lack of ACMG incident investigation and reporting, appropriate post-incident communication, transparency and dissemination of key findings to interested parties, reform of the Canadian accident liability framework, government intervention if industry 'self-regulation' proves inadequate and that the BC Coroner should complete an inquest into the matters of the death of Sonja Johnson Findlater.
