ACMG Incident Form - Merrie Beth Board

This ACMG incident report form was filled out on March 13, 2019 by Merrie Beth Board.

This report was disclosed to me on February 9, 2020. What leaves me cold is that Merrie Beth Board took a call in the seconds before we were hit, being warned by Sarah Hueniken as to the avalanche that was thundering towards us.  Merrie Beth didn't yell, "AVALANCHE" as would have alerted the group to the actual danger. She began to yell, "EVERYONE, (to the wall)." Only the word 'everyone' got out before the snow hit. As I tumbled through the snow, I remember thinking, 'what was it she yelled? It must have been 'avalanche', because that's the only thing that makes sense'.  From the beginning, our lead guide was not able to tell  the truth of the danger we were in. Fortunately for Merrie Beth Board, all she had to do was take a couple steps back into the cave for safety.
