Understanding the Avalanche Forecast

The daily avalanche forecast issues a danger rating for each elevation: Alpine, Treeline and Below Treeline. There is an expanded discussion on the snow pack, weather and recent avalanche activity. Each forecast is issued in the evening for the next day, based on that day's observations and incoming weather.
