ACMG Expanded Summary and Rationale to Respond to Complaint

The ACMG Code of Conduct states that members, 'shall: hold paramount the safety of their clients and, in so doing, shall manage reasonably foreseeable risks to the fullest extent possible...." The Preliminary Review Committee (PRC) reviewed the complaint and although the PRC agreed to the facts as described, the PRC denied holding a conduct review hearing or providing an Incident Report. The PRC stated that they would not make a determination that a breach of the ACMG Code of Conduct occurred. There is no appeal process. The PRC ignored the three errors Benjamin Paradis made on rappel, guide complacency and unsecured safety equipment; stating, "there is no certainty that additional shovels would have made a difference in the outcome." When in fact, shovels are the ONLY thing that would have made a difference. to the outcome.
